Read on for the latest developments in the Ampera ecosystem.
AMP community votes to extend additional Flexa capacity rewards
The AMP community overwhelmingly passed a proposal, with 98% voter support, to extend the distribution of AMP tokens to Flexa Capacity for an additional 12 months, allocating 1.36 billion AMP from the initial Network Development Fund. This initiative aims to continue bootstrapping spending capacity for the Flexa Network and distribute tokens to the users of the ecosystem. The detailed distribution schedule sets the path for the continued growth and success of the project.
Ampera Foundation at Consensus
The Ampera Foundation made a splash at Consensus with a retro 80's-themed booth, featuring an Apple II computer, dot matrix printer, Duck Hunt and Mike Tyson’s Punch Out on a CRT TV, and nostalgic merch like slap bracelets and yoyos. As part of the 80’s theme, there was even an Ampera toaster giveaway!
The theme reflected how collateral has not changed over the years in traditional finance and Ampera aims to innovate. Attendees enjoyed the experience, leading to valuable connections with community members, potential partners and industry peers.
The Ampera community led the efforts to source props and merch, identify a sustainable booth builder, and even manned the booth to introduce Ampera to the world. It was a truly collaborative effort that showcased the diverse skill sets of community members.
As part of Consensus, the foundation shared an 80’s themed presentation explaining how collateral will work in the near future.
Ampera Happy Hour with Gabriel Haines
The Ampera Foundation and crypto personality Gabriel Haines hosted a successful happy hour at Consensus, drawing a strong turnout. The happy hour provided an excellent opportunity to bring together Amp community members and partners, fostering connections over some bourbon and BBQ.
Flexa enables support for Avalanche-native USDC payments
Flexa, a partner of the Ampera Foundation, has announced the support for USDC spending on the Avalanche network. This integration with Avalanche, known for its fast and scalable smart contract processing, paves the way for instant transactions, increased capacity, and lower fees—crucial elements for digital payment adoption. The collaboration with Ava Labs strengthens Flexa's commitment to multi-chain assets, expanding the scope of payment functionality and fostering the future of digital payments.
